Your Resource for Support and Care During Pregnancy and Motherhood

Every woman deserves unconditional dignity and respect as she prepares to welcome a new life into the world.

My role is to support and guide you on your journey to motherhood through the integration of evidence-based, personalized care to meet your distinct preferences for a safe and fulfilling birth experience, whatever that may look like.

Whether it’s all-natural, medicated, or cesarean, no matter how you choose to give birth, this is a sisterhood, and I’ve got your back!

Chrissy is a DONA International trained birth doula serving the Central New Jersey, North New Jersey, and Staten Island areas.

A doula is: “a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to their client before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.”

-DONA International

Hi, I’m Chrissy!

I’m a mom, wife, daughter, sister, nature lover, gardener, reader, home cook, dog lover, and artist. In 2017, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a minor in environmental studies, and have worked in remediation consulting for over half a decade.

My journey to becoming a doula began while I was pregnant with my daughter. During my pregnancy, I consumed as much evidence-based information about the birth world as possible. I prepared mentally and physically and I hired a doula of my own to support my husband and I in this new and unfamiliar territory. With my baby’s arrival, I felt a new sense of purpose in life, which is to support and empower parents-to-be as they embark on the most transformative journey ever.

My wholehearted belief is that it is every woman’s right to be the captain of her own ship, so to speak. You deserve to have a birth experience that you can look back on and remember with reverence. As your doula, I aim to build trust and rapport with you during your pregnancy, discuss and honor your birth preferences, comfort and support you and your partner during labor, encourage you and aid you in advocating for yourself and your desires, and be a calm, empathetic, and ever-present member of your birth team.

The Process

  • Reach out to schedule a free virtual or in-person consultation at your convenience! During our initial consultation, we will discuss your strongest wishes for your birth experience and how I can support you in your desires. I will be able to answer any questions you have regarding working together. If you feel excited about adding me to your birth team, let me know and we can begin this journey together!

  • During your pregnancy, we will meet two times in-person to get acquainted, thoroughly discuss your birth preferences, address any concerns or fears, and review comfort and coping measures that you may find useful in labor. The goal is to prepare you for labor and birth. We will be in contact via text or call to discuss any milestones, appointments, or thoughts up until you begin labor. My aim is to educate you on evidence-based care to honor and empower you for a safe and satisfying birth experience!

  • When you are in labor, I will join you at home, the hospital, or the birth center. I remain with you for the entire duration of your labor. As you labor, I will comfort you in whatever ways seem to be working best for you, including position suggestions, gentle touch, counter pressure, relaxation skills, positive affirmation, breathing techniques, and other birth tools. I will follow your lead! After welcoming your baby, I will remain at your side for up to two hours until you are comfortable and ready for quiet bonding time. If requested, I will help facilitate breastfeeding.

  • After birth and for the next few weeks, I will check in with you to see how you’re doing. Once you transition back home, we will set up an in-home postpartum visit at your convenience. During this time, we will go over your birth story together and I can answer any questions you may have regarding my role as your doula. I will provide basic newborn care, hands-on feeding support, healthy postpartum reminders, great resources, and even some light housework if necessary.
